Hi Cra8tive, I suggest you to run a LCD BIST by following the below steps to determine if the screen is working fine: (1) The Computer needs to be turned on. (2) Remove the VGA cable from behind the monitor (the cable that connects the monitor and the computer) (3) Now check if you see colored lined on the monitor. Note: This procedure does not work on PS3 60GB. Turn off the PS3 by removing the power cord. Put your finger on the Eject button and hold. While keeping your finger on it, turn on the PS3. Wait for 10 to 30 seconds (during this time, the fan will be louder than usual) and release. Your game disc should be ejected. Jun 10, 2012. 130. 0. 10,680. Mar 5, 2018. #1. Hi Guys, Recently I upgraded my PS3 to 4.82 version. I have not used my PS3 for like 3 to 4 years and now I am back again trying to play, The console works like a charm, I downloaded the update through the wireless network and then it automatically started updating the update and it got stuck at 99%. Options. First, try putting the console in recovery mode and running the "Restore File System" option. If you are met with errors here, the hard drive may have failed/is failing. PS3's store a portion of their operating system on the hard drive and the fact that the problem got worse to the point where it wouldn't boot up suggests this. I have connected another ssd to install the update there, but it tells me to press start+select to search for flash drives, and the flash drives don't get recognised by the ps3. I have also tried booting to safe mode, but it didn't work. Tldr; My ps3 got stuck in an update loop and I want to find a way to fix it other than formatting my hdd. RIY4.
